LifeBox hosted more than forty Rotarians and guests from District 1050, during their Saturday morning Open Day, which was also attended by DG Michael Barker and Incoming DG Mike Payne.

Groups were escorted around the warehouse workspace, which enabled them to meet with the scheme organisers and staff at DHL, who help administer the scheme.

DHL is the home of LifeBox and facilitates the goods off loading, picking and filling areas and storage facility for filled boxes. Situated only a mile from the M62 Motorway midway between the Ports of Liverpool & Hull, it is ideally placed for ocean shipments and is only 20 minutes drive from Manchester International Airport.

Currently 60no. LifeBox are held in stock at the warehouse and a further 65No. of the superseded Emergency Boxes, which are still being returned from Rotary Clubs throughout R.I.B.I.
Box contents (78 no. items in all) are stored in batches of 100 no., which enables the scheme organisers to quickly fill Boxes to meet an urgent call from Aid Charities Worldwide.

More than 70 tickets were entered into a ‘Prize Draw’ for 2 WEEKS HOLIDAY ACCOMODATION in BARBADOS (Courtesy of Mike Davies, LifeBox Chairman, who owns a property in Barbados.)

DG Michael Barker drew the winning ticket, which was RC of Wirral North, who sponsored 12 no. boxes. DG Mike gave praise to the LifeBox & DHL Team, who have worked tirelessly to produce the excellent achievements, since the schemes launch in October 2006.
