Disaster Aid UK & I (Formerly Rotary LifeBox) (Registered UK Charity no: 1103165)

Project Goal:
To provide a ready stock of humanitarian aid in the form of five products: LifeBox, Disaster Aid Family Kit, a First Aid station, school for 80 children and Skyjuice Water Filtration System.

Rotary Service Type:
To purchase goods (from donations) and fill LifeBoxes. To purchase the five products as stated above from donations.

Unique Selling Proposition:
Disaster Aid offers the prospect to those affected to rebuild their lives following a disaster.

Description:
Disaster Aid products may be sponsored by any Rotary club, school, organisation or individual by sending a cheque payable to Rotary Emergency Box Trust or by donating online via the website

Box Contents:

A LifeBox costs £250 and helps families start again after losing everything in disasters. Consists of approximately 75 items including Lifestraws for water purification. Full list is on the website.

A Disaster Aid Family Kit costs £400. It contains a tent for a family, water purification equipment, stove, mosquito nets, pots, tools rope and other survival items, children’s school supplies, thermal blankets and other essential items.

A First Aid station costs £600. Consists of a tent, folding table and chairs and two medical supply kits.

A school tent costs £1600. Consists of four tents connected together and supplies for 80 children and their teachers including blackboards.

The SkyHydrant costs £3300. It is a gravity fed filter producing drinking water for 500-1000 people per day.

Benefits to Club:
An International project with outreach potential into schools, churches, youth clubs or any organisation or company in your community. Our own trained Disaster Aid Response Teams (DART) will deliver the equipment and we are looking for volunteers to become ambassadors to publicise Disaster Aid UK & I.
